RE: Feb 16 Borderstan Meeting - Reminder

Last fall, (then) 3D Commander Kucik hosted a meeting on 1400 R issues. We’re holding a follow up to that and a general Borderstan meeting (at the regular PSA 208 meeting) on February 16th in 3D at 1620 V Street at 7pm.  The new 3D Commander Jacob Kishter and 2D Commander Klein plan to be in attendance.

Looking forward to making some progress

If there are other matters that you’d help to explore at the regular PSA meeting, we could hold side meetings to handle those concerns.

We had what seemed to be a successful Crime/Nightlife Summit a couple weeks back and will be discussing follow up soon.

Could the relevant government agencies please prepare the asked for stats and reports or otherwise get back to us.

Everyone who signed up at Chief Groomes’ meeting last spring and Commander Kucik’s meeting last fall is on the this contact list as well as some people who we hope will come to this meeting.

Below are 3 upcoming meetings on 3 big topics: We’d like to have serious discussion on 3 big community issues in parts of the neighborhood distant from each other in the next month – 2100 P Street late-night issues, Conn/M Street area late-night issues, and Borderstan issues. We hope to have all relevant parties at these meetings in an attempt to really come up with some solutions.

1)     On Tuesday January 19th, citizens and business representatives will meet from 7 to 8:00pm at MPD 3D station (1620 V St.). (Held on the 3rd Tuesdays for Dupont and Kalorama-Sheridan issues and still in the 3D building even though our police work out of 2D.) Our community depends on good communications to and from our police. This is a roundtable meeting where we problem-solve. Bring an issue – no matter how minor. If you can’t make it, please convey your issue to someone who will be attending. One discussion topic will be planning for the below 2 meetings and 3 topics.

2)     Crime Summit – discussion of potential remedies (2 big topics in one meeting) at the Palomar Hotel for Tuesday, January 26th from 7pm to 9pm. Check lobby for specific room.
